Every year that Apple has come out with a new iPhone model, the company has tried to make a big splash by way of advertising. However, for those that follow Apple closely, much of the surprise has disappeared by the time the announcement is made.
The reason for this is the number of leaks that we have seen that come by way of the supply chain. With the iPhone 6 expected this fall, the number of rumours surrounding this device are numerous. The latest rumour seems to provide further details about how Apple will address the battery in the upcoming iPhone. Currently, iPhone users have been known as wall huggers, simply because the shorter battery life that comes with the iPhone. With the iPhone 6, Apple will come out with two different handsets. The 4.7-inch device is said to have a battery that will have a capacity of 1,800 mAh and 1,900 mAh. The larger handset, the 5.5-inch device, will have a 2,500 mAh battery. It’s certainly an upgrade from the current iPhone 5S that has a 1,570mAh battery, but it is shorter than some Android phones that have a 3,000mAh battery.
Still, the size of the battery is just one aspect that affects the amount of use a user will get out of their handset. Apple can also push out optimizations that affect the display, the underlying hardware as well as the software.
